Eight Ways to combat anxiety / depression

Yoga -- Yoga is one of the best ways to calm the mind and get those endorphins working. No subscription is necessary.. Unless you want to. I use LOVE Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube. She is amazing and it's FREE..

meditation --- I KNOW it sound ridiculous but try it before you knock it. I look forward to meditating. It is a truly unique experience if you take it seriously. That too is FREE on You Tube. I just search Guided meditation.

Music -- it is hard to be angry, upset, or anxious when jamming to your favorite music.. Unless you jam is something heart felt and possibly depressing. Which I usually stay away from those songs at all costs!!

Positive thoughts -- Okay so hear me out on this. I know that no one wants to be told to "think positive" or it "could be worse"  But the truth is maybe last year you were praying for exactly what you have now. Even if you asked for what you have now 10 years ago, you still have progressed.  Just think, someone is actually jealous of your life.  You may think WHY -- but if you have a roof over your head, food on your table, internet and access to this post You have way more than some. Sometimes that could be enough to pull yourself out of the darkness of depression. Even if only for a little while.

Cardio or weight lifting  -- Good ole' Fashion heart pumping exercise. nothing beats the feeling of getting that heart racing and stopping the mind from racing.  It feels good and it is good for you.

Take ME time -- this is very important it is not selfish or wrong to take time for yourself. In fact I find when I take me time, I am all around more productive.

Essential Oils -- This may not work for everyone but I love Bergamot, Lavender, and a few blends really do help. Diffuse or dab a little of your favorite on your wrist or in back of your ears. It usually works within seconds for me.

A long hot shower or bath --   Never under estimate the power of relaxing in a bath. Just the fact that you are RELAXING should help.   Take your time, everyone will be okay without you. Yes i know i feel guilty being in too long. But you deserve it, you NEED this time so take it.

I really do enjoy all of these things but I have to say my long hot bath is a favorite. I can stay in there for hours with a good book.  I have to remind myself not to feel guilty about it. I also have to remind myself that I need these things.

But in all honesty sometimes nothing works and you might not feel like getting out of bed.  Remember, that's okay too.  Do what is right for you but don't let it consume you...

Tell me what is your favorite me time activity??

  4. I think its so important for one to take time for themselves, even if its only to lock yourself in the bathroom , put on the shower and sit in the tub, breathe in and breathe out.. We all need to love ourselves .
