As a full-time working mother of 5 children (2,3,4,5, and 9) on Saturday or Sunday I may have time for eggs and bacon or homemade pancakes but weekdays are always something quick and easy. When shopping for cereal my children usually request something very sugary that I refuse to buy except on occasion. They will eat Cheerios but lets face it that hardly has a "childlike" appeal to it. And who doesn't get tired of eating the same cereal over and over. When I got my Bzzkit in I was very excited to surprise my children with the new cereal.
My 4 year old daughter and son were very excited that SuperWhy was on the front but honestly that is something that had no appeal to me. When I poured them a bowl I tasted the cereal and it tasted pretty good to me but one of my children is extremely picky so I knew she would be the best one to give her opinion. The fact that the cereal was shaped like the alphabet had not effect on my children even after I pointed it out all they said was yes it's shaped like letters. All 5 of my children said the taste was good and I asked if they would want me to buy it again they all said yes.
After doing some research Alpha-Bits about the same amount calories and fat grams as Cheerios for a serving size of one cup. Cheerios has considerably less sugar with 1gram compared to 10 grams in the Post Alpha-Bits. I like the fact that Alpha-Bits has 12 essential vitamins and minerals so it does have nutritional advantages. All and all I think Alpha-Bits will be a cereal that I buy as an occasional treat for my children considering the sugar content.
